“You have to come see this,” Anya called back.
Eden and Faras squeezed through and found themselves emerging into an immense cave. They stood on a shelf above a lake that filled the space from edge to edge, and thousands of tiny, brilliant specks of light pierced the darkness, glowing and twinkling. Their blue-and-purple glints reflected in the blackness of the water, creating the sensation of an endless void, filled with stars above and below as far as the eye could see.
Faras held up his wand, but its light failed to reach the ceiling above, the cave’s expanse too vast to judge. “Whoa,” he said, his voice quiet, dense serenity swallowing the sound.
“It’s how you imagine the edge of the world,” Anya said in a hushed tone.
