Good to know
How is the Author's Edition different from the standard editions?
The Author's Edition is a special collector's hardcover, sold only here. Unlike the standard editions, it features 16 pages of full-color illustrations (the standard hardcover and paperback include the same artwork in black and white), a special edition cover with embossing, deleted-scenes bonus content, full-color endsheets, sprayed edges, and a bookmark ribbon. It is printed with sustainable soy inks in a limited print run.
When will my Author's Edition ship?
The Author's Edition is specially printed and ships in late November. The standard editions, eBook, and audiobook are available now from the stores listed above.
When am I charged, and can I cancel?
For the Author's Edition, the full amount is charged at checkout. You can cancel any time before your book ships for a full refund. After delivery, returns are accepted only for damaged or defective books, within 14 days of arrival. Purchases from other stores follow that store's policy.
Why is the Author's Edition only sold here and not in stores?
It is nearly impossible for an independent author to get a custom-printed book into general bookstore distribution. For indie authors, those channels only carry print-on-demand titles made through existing systems, which is what the standard hardcover and paperback use. Because the Author's Edition is custom-printed, it is sold directly here.
Is this book suitable for kids?
This novel is recommended for anyone 12 or older, though adults will find it equally entertaining. It has no gore, no spice, and no profanity. From an approachability perspective, it can be best described as sitting comfortably somewhere between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The dyslexia-friendly paperback and the audiobook are the two most approachable formats for younger readers.
